Kaliona / Casefate

Privacy policy

This policy covers Casefate, including its web app and any companion app distributed by Kaliona. Questions: holo.kaliona@gmail.com.

Information handled by Casefate

Your saved, watched and followed case marks, private notes, research requests, sidebar preferences and notification registrations. The shared catalog also contains case information, source links, artwork and media-rights review records. Account identifiers distinguish your personal records from shared research. Optional Android widget connections use a short-lived pairing code and a device access credential. The server stores only credential hashes. The widget caches saved or followed case titles, watched status, update counts and its last refresh time on the device; it excludes private notes and photographs.

Use, access and security

Kaliona uses this data to provide the features you choose, save your work, manage access and respond to support requests. It is not sold or used by Kaliona for advertising. App traffic uses HTTPS. Access controls restrict private records; no storage or transmission method is risk-free.

Service providers and retention

Floot hosts the app and database. Research searches may send your search text to source services such as CourtListener, the US Department of Justice or the FBI. Following an external source or media link opens that provider, which handles the visit under its own policy. Notification delivery uses the registered device or browser subscription when enabled. The app stores saved edits to saved and watched marks, follows and private notes in browser or app storage on your device so it can recover them after a reload or interrupted connection. Recovery is tied to the account verified by the server; Podbraid also separates copies by show and episode. A fresh launch requires an online identity check before private drafts are displayed. Compatible changes sync automatically; competing changes require review. Pending copies remain on the device until synced or cleared. Clearing browser or app storage can permanently remove edits that have not reached the cloud.

Floot’s infrastructure handles operational and security information under its privacy policy. Provider logs, backups and previously collected analytics can have separate retention periods. Disabling new app analytics does not erase historical provider records. Contact support about these copies; we will identify applicable retention and follow up with the provider.

Active app data is kept while needed to provide your app account and requested features. On a verified deletion request, support removes the agreed data and checks remaining storage and integration copies. A minimal request record may be retained for verification, security or a specific legal obligation; any applicable exception and timeframe will be explained.

Your choices and deletion

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data at holo.kaliona@gmail.com. You can request deletion without reinstalling or signing in to the app. Account deletion is separate from uninstalling.

Request account & data deletion

Your separate Floot, Google, Notion or other provider accounts are not deleted by an app-data request. Downloads, browser caches and copies held on your devices or by other authorized people may need separate action.

Research context

Casefate is an independent case tracker. It is not affiliated with Chris Hansen, Takedown or their rights holders. Coverage and allegations do not establish guilt. The current app is private; its images and research records are not made public by these support pages.
