Privacy policy

This policy covers Mealphase, including its web app and any companion app distributed by Kaliona. Questions: holo.kaliona@gmail.com.

Information handled by Mealphase

Your food and nutrition entries, saved foods and orders, weight entries, fasting times, fitness activity, quotes, events, inspiration photos and preferences. The app associates cloud records with the account used to open it. Optional Android widget pairing stores a device credential and caches event titles, dates and quotes on that device. If you enable reminders, the app stores your notification choices, time zone, device or browser delivery token, and send-status records used to prevent duplicate reminders.

Use, access and security

Kaliona uses this data to provide the features you choose, save your work, manage access and respond to support requests. It is not sold or used by Kaliona for advertising. App traffic uses HTTPS. Access controls restrict private records; no storage or transmission method is risk-free.

Service providers and retention

Cloud hosting, private photo storage and authentication are provided through Floot. When you ask the app to draft nutrition information, your submitted text or image is sent to the AI service through Floot for that request. Review the estimate before saving it. Photos used for inspiration are stored separately from nutrition-drafting requests. Optional reminders are delivered through Floot and the device or browser push provider, including Google Firebase Cloud Messaging for supported Android builds. The notification payload identifies the reminder type and app section; it does not include food or weight logs, private notes, event titles or class titles. Delivery providers process the delivery token and notification payload. The web app also saves unsynced edits in browser storage on your device so it can recover them after a reload or interrupted connection. These drafts can include food, weight, fasting and fitness records and preferences. Draft recovery is tied to the account confirmed by the server; after a fresh launch, an online identity check is required before private drafts are displayed. Compatible changes sync automatically when connected; competing changes may require your review. Pending drafts remain on the device until synced or cleared. Clearing browser or app storage can permanently remove edits that have not reached the cloud.

Floot’s infrastructure handles operational and security information under its privacy policy. Provider logs, backups and previously collected analytics can have separate retention periods. Disabling new app analytics does not erase historical provider records. Contact support about these copies; we will identify applicable retention and follow up with the provider.

Active app data is kept while needed to provide your app account and requested features. On a verified deletion request, support removes the agreed data and checks remaining storage and integration copies. A minimal request record may be retained for verification, security or a specific legal obligation; any applicable exception and timeframe will be explained.

Your choices and deletion

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data at holo.kaliona@gmail.com. You can request deletion without reinstalling or signing in to the app. Account deletion is separate from uninstalling.

Request account & data deletion

Your separate Floot, Google, Notion or other provider accounts are not deleted by an app-data request. Downloads, browser caches and copies held on your devices or by other authorized people may need separate action.

Optional reminders

Reminder types start off. Choose the types you want in Settings and explicitly enable notifications on each device. Supported reminders cover the 8 p.m. timer, a fasting goal you set, classes and dated events. Native availability depends on the installed app version. You can turn off a reminder type, disable a device in the app, or change operating-system notification permissions. Disabling a device in the app removes its delivery registration and associated send-status records; account-wide choices remain until changed or deleted. Messages already delivered can remain in device notification history until cleared.

Health information

Mealphase is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent a medical condition. Nutrition estimates may be inaccurate. Consult a qualified health professional before making health, diet, exercise or fasting decisions. A saved calorie reference is your chosen tracking value, not a medical recommendation.
